    It can be several things:

    1. It can depend where you are living (censorship)
    2. I can be the online game server’s issue
    3. You can being banned from this server
    4. It can be the communication ports used by your game which you didn’t opened in your firewall/router.
    5. Your online game required you to pay a subscription and you didn’t pay the bill.

    So on….

Probably has something to do with either your router or your firewall,

one of those are probably blocking the ports necessary for playing online games.

    1. Try turning off your firewall and see if that helps,

if that is indeed the problem, either try allowing the game throught the firewall or try using another firewall.

    2. If that doesn’t help, check out your router settings to see if it blocks certain ports, this page might help you/change settings: How to Configure a Router

PS. Depending on what game you’re trying to play,

different ports needs to be opened,

if you’re trying to play World of Warcraft,

these ports needs to be open:

Windows Firewall may have blocked your games from accessing internet.

When you start a game for the first time, windows firewall asks your permission if you want to give internet connection to a specific game/software.

You can check firewall settings if that is the problem.

Open Control Panel and Go to

Control PanelSystem and SecurityWindows Defender FirewallAllowed apps

Click on Change settings button and change the settings of your game.

There could be many issues. If you are using a public IP, ask your ISP to give you a “real IP”. That might solve a lot of issues.

Also, check the firewall settings. Sometimes you will have to add the game shortcuts to “firewall exception list”. If you haven’t done that, every time you try to take your games online, the firewall will block them.

Also, do check if your games are legitimate or not. Pirated and or cracked games cannot be used for online multiplayer.

Getting a faster and more reliable connection works almost all the time.

    Hope these helped.

Uhhh this particular answer is going to require a lot more information. Example, if you’re playing an older game it could be that the servers are no longer functional. If a newer game, it may have something to do with your firewall or could just be some maintenance going on. If you want me to try and find out the solution to this problem of yours, if its still persisting, send me a message and I’ll do what I can.

This depends on what network you’re connected to most of the time.

For instance, if you’re connected to a work network/college network, chances are that they block out websites related to gaming. This also means that they have a firewall set which doesn’t allow anything related to gaming to pass through. This could be a huge reason why you cannot connect to an online game.

Another reason could be simply that the game’s servers are down. Because of this, you just cannot connect to the game again until the servers come back up. This has nothing to do with you, it’s all on the game developer’s side/ server hoster’s side.

Depends where you are connecting from … if youre wondering why you cant play games using your schools wifi … thats because the school paid someone to set it up properly (eg disabling ports and sites for common games).

VPN will stop you asking another question.

Are these games browser games? or proper games? where are you trying to connect from? what version of OS are you using? was it a second hand purchase or you got it from a shop? custom build?

Many questions, which would help pinpoint the cause.

Just check that your windows firewall has access to your games so that it won’t block the internet access for online gaming and also check that you have a fast internet connection also. because sometimes due to low internet speed the games don’t get connected easily.

When one networking feature works but another doesn’t, it’s one or a combination of these things:

    • Resources
    • Network Security
    • Device Security
    • Some other device issue
