What organs are on the right side of your back?

  • I’m going to assume you think of organs in the traditional sense and not the medical sense (the latter includes skin, muscle, etc).

The only organs in the traditional thought that are on the right side of the back and isn’t underneath the ribs is the right kidney (lower back next to the spine) and maybe the bottom right of the liver. The rest I wouldn’t really consider in the back. I think it would help to know why you are asking so I could better understand what you’re getting at.

The organs aren’t really on your back they are situated between the framework of your body on the right side you have the the right lung, the liver, the gall bladder sections of your small and large intestine, your diaphragm, your Right kidney, your appendix, the aorta runs midway through on the left lies the majority of the heart , left lung, spleen, pancreas left diaphragm large and small intestine and left kidney…the esophagus and trachea are midline an the R and L bronchus break off at the breastbone.

On the Right side of the upper body, the Right Lung and Right segment of Diaphragm that separates the chest from the abdomen. Just below the Diaphragm is the Liver and the Gall bladder. Right side Retroperoitoneal is the Right Kidney. Of course there are blood vessels – arteries and veins that feed these organs. The Inferior Vena Cava is the large conduit Vein more on the Right side. The Abdominal Aorta is really midline – not fully Right or Left. But the Aortic branches to the Right sided organs and Right leg are obviously on the Right side. Finally there are important muscle groups which are linked to the Right side of the spine, which itself is midline.

Just to be complete on the Left side of the Abdomen are the Stomach, Pancreas, Spleen and Left Kidney and Left side of the Intestines. The first two Abdominal Aortic arteries called Celiac axis and Superior Mesenteric at not mirror images, but specialized branches to Stomach, Liver, Spleen, Intestines, etc. There is a Right Renal and a Left Renal, Right and Left Iliacs which do mirror each other.

What causes pain on the right side towards my back?

No one on Quora can tell you the cause, but I can tell you why it persists – you’re wasting time asking strangers over the internet about your pain instead of seeing a physician.
