Chapter 85 of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, titled “Bound for the Far Shore (Part 2),” is the latest installment of the manga.
In this chapter, Teru and the others have broken into the train that Hanako and Aoi are in. Teru and Akane confront Hanako, who tells them that it’s too late to save Aoi. Not accepting their fate, Teru tackles Hanako while Akane rushes to save Aoi.
Since Teru had already planned to kill Hanako, he wastes no time in threatening him and almost exorcising him. Nene and Kou come to his aid as Nene pulls him away, and Kou holds back his brother.
Have Kou and Nene figured out how to save Aoi without sacrificing anyone else? Will they save Hanako from Teru? We’ll find out in the next chapter.
1. Chapter 86 Discussions and Predictions
In the latest chapter, we see how Hanako was saved by Nene and Kou just in time. Teru was going to exorcise him for good, but it seems like his younger brother Kou decided to interfere and help Nene save Hanako.
It’s still unclear if this was just an impulsive decision or if they really have a plan to save both Hanako and Aoi. Is there really a way to expand Nene’s lifespan without sacrificing Aoi? There should be a way because even if Hanako kills Aoi, Teru threatened him that he would kill Nene.
Regardless of what happens, Aoi’s sacrifice will be for nothing if Nene dies. I think that Teru’s threats might be empty, and his only motive is to kill Hanako. Although we can’t be sure but seems likely that Teru is only bluffing.

5. Chapter 85 Recap
Teru and Akane have successfully stopped the train, disrupting the journey of many supernaturals. They get attacked by the disturbed supernaturals, making their search of Aoi harder.
Teru reassures Akane that they’re on the right train since the exorcism device he gave her is a pair with the one he has, so they are attracted to each other. They continue fighting the supernaturals while inching closer to Aoi.
Meanwhile, Hanako asks Aoi to hide in their compartment as he goes to check why the train stopped. Aoi accidentally gets discovered by a supernatural which causes her to gain a lot of attention from many others. They all start fighting over who gets to eat her.
Hanako stumbles upon Teru and Akane, who tell him they were there to save Aoi. Hanako tells them that it’s too late because she is already devoured by a beast. Teru sees through his bluff because his exorcism device is still reacting, which means that she’s still safe.
Hanako and Teru engage in a fight while Akane heads towards Aoi’s compartment to save her. Just as Aoi is about to be eaten by the supernaturals, Akane jumps in to save her. The two finally reunite and share an emotional moment as Akane’s eyes well up with tears.
Back at Hanako and Teru’s fight, Hanako is about to get defeated. Teru tells Hanako that even if he kills Aoi to increase Nene’s lifespan, he will kill Nene to undo all of his efforts. Hanako is stunned to hear this and freezes in shock.
As Teru raises his sword to end Hanako’s life, Kou stops him and signals Nene to enter. While Kou is holding his brother back, Nene takes Hanako’s hand and pulls him away. The two then run away even though there’s nowhere they can run to.
